The Fallen Protectors went down again! It took us seven attempts, which isn’t too bad at all. The fight itself wasn’t too interesting, but I definitely like the idea of fighting sha-corrupted, fallen heroes.
I’m sure you really wanted to see us do it, and now you can! We did some attempts on Norushen – 10 it looks like if each of these Fraps videos is a full attempt – but we weren’t able to finish it.
I also completed the first flex wing, Vale of Eternal Sorrows. It was interesting. Yes, it was easier than normal, but we still had to pay attention to mechanics. I think I liked the difficulty. What really sets it apart though is requiring it to be pre-formed. I bet people would do their jobs better in LFR if you had to form your own group as well! I was a little stressed out joining a PUG because you never know what you’ll get. I guess it was kind of silly. Regardless, it went well, and I particularly enjoyed seeing the Sha of Pride. That’s a really cool boss to include. Afterwards you get some dialog between Jaina Proudmoore and Lor’themar Theron that I enjoyed.
Mooglegem came up with a great analogy earlier that I thought I’d share. The Sha of Anger is like a pinata that only contains black licorice.
You know, because you never get anything good?
If you like black licorice, get out.
Last night went decently. We downed the Stone Guard very quickly, which was only our second kill. It was also the first for which Mooglegem was present, so I’m glad she got some personal progression. We put in some good attempts on Feng the Accursed, but we couldn’t kill him. We got him under 20% but didn’t have time to kill him. I’m confident that we will very soon though. Assuming the same people show up for our raid Thursday, I think we’ll get him then.
Our problems mostly came from learning the fight – determining when to use CDs and how to place abilities. For example, we had issues with the fires being too close, barrier placement, usage of CDs during the fires, and Feng running through fires on the transition to phase three. However, we worked through most of them.
After the raid, we killed the Sha of Anger. Unfortunately, neither Mooglegem nor I received loot, but a guildie did. This was also the first time Mooglegem got to fight the Sha of Anger, so I’d say it was a good night for her.
Here’s to Thursday!
On Thursday Mooglegem and I got back from our Hawaiian Thanksgiving vacation just in time for Carpe Flux Capacitor’s first raid night of the expansion! Unfortunately, Moogle had to leave on a business trip the next day, so she didn’t raid. I, however, had the opportunity. Boy, I really missed it.
It was a short raid night, but we managed to defeat the Stone Guard! It was a fun battle. No loot dropped for me this time, but I love progression more than loot!
On Saturday, I tried the Sha of Anger for the first time. It was sweet! Well, the fight was okay, but winning Guardian Serpent Handwraps was awesome! That’s two raid bosses down this expansion in the span of three days! Here’s hoping we continue progressing this week!
