Turkulon, Feathered Avenger of Death is upon us! This level 66 giant turkey boss has started spawning in the last couple days.
According to reddit, it seems that it has a 2-3 hour respawn timer and can spawn in multiple locations. But I also heard that multiple can be up near each other. So is one always up? Is it rare? I’m not sure, but I wanted to be sure to kill one.
gem and I were running corruption breaches when someone in global asked for help with Turkulon. We immediately ran to a fast travel point, teleported near him, and ran over there.
Turkulon lays eggs that explode and leave a patch of fire behind!
When we pulled, there were four of us, but by the end, there were nine of us total – levels 60×4, 49, 47, 44, 39, and 28.
Remember to watch out for the giant lasers; turkeys are known to shoot lasers!
Down after about 12.5 minutes!
And I got a legendary-quality cooking ingredient, Monstrous Turkey Leg!
This was super fun, and I’m glad gem and I got to it in time. There’s still something fun and unexpected about this type of thing in New World. Check out the video above of our kill. Now I want to eat turkey!
Brewfest begins on September 20 and ends on October 5. Unfortunately, Mists of Pandaria launches on September 25, and Coren Direbrew, the holiday boss, is tuned for level 90. That means you can’t queue for it until you’re 89. Those first five days of Brewfest? He’s inaccessible for those days. Of course, for the remaining 10 days you can only queue for him if you’re level 89 or 90.
There are a lot of boring in-game holidays, and Brewfest is not one of them. However, I level slowly. It took me almost six weeks to get from 80 to 85. Something tells me I won’t be fighting Coren Direwbrew this year. This is NOT cool. At the very least, he should be accessible and tuned for level 80 for the first five days, although I’d still be sad that they couldn’t just push the event to a different time. I know I’m in the extreme minority by saying this, but I would even prefer to delay the expansion. I love this event!
On the other hand, I already have the Swift Brewfest Ram. I’d like the kodo as well, but the ram is what I really wanted, and I have it. Mooglegem still needs the ram, but I’m fairly certain she has it on her alt (along with the kodo). There’s something I didn’t realize until I read this comment by ladyjbritish on the WoW Insider article.
At first I was like…noooo..then I was like.. WAIT. In MoP we get all the mounts from our toons on one account – and I have both on 2 different toons already. Now I’m like..yay no need to race to 89 :)
That doesn’t help me with the kodo, but I suppose that means gem doesn’t need Coren Direbrew at all. Still, I wish I could fight him all 15 days!
Happy Love is in the Air! And happy Valentine’s Day for those of you keeping track in the real world. Mooglegem decided to put down her Romantic Picnic Basket on the deck of the Skyfire before we chased Deathwing this week. Quite a few people decided to join!
I hope everyone’s spending the day with a loved one!
I had a lot of fun during the Hallow’s End event this year! I feel like video games make holidays feel way more festive for me. For instance, I don’t usually throw together costumes or go out trick or treating, but I celebrate in-game by doing the quests annually. Plus, the cities in WoW have more decorations (A GIANT PUMPKIN IN UNDERCITY! YAY!) than I expect to ever see in Irvine, CA.
Anyway, my mage is super happy with her new Feline Familiar! I collect a lot of pets for her, but this one is actually a familiar! I loved the kitty’s witch hat so much that I found one to match :)
